Fífi Ẹni tó dára jùlọ nínú àwọn olùdá sílẹ̀
Ilyās béèrè lọ́wọ́ àwọn ènìyàn rẹ̀ pé: “Ṣé ẹ̀ ń pe Baʿl ẹ sì ń fi Ẹni tó dára jùlọ nínú àwọn olùdá sílẹ̀, Allāhu, Olúwa yín àti Olúwa àwọn baba ńlá yín?” Wọ́n tako rẹ̀. Allāhu gba àwọn ẹrú Rẹ̀ olódodo là, Ó sì fi ìrántí rere sílẹ̀ fún Ilyās láàrín àwọn ìran tó tẹ̀lé: “Àlàáfíà wà lórí Ilyāsīn.” Ní ibòmíràn a kà á mọ́ àwọn olódodo.
Fi àwọn āyah hàn (11)
وَإِنَّ إِلْيَاسَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ﴿١٢٣﴾
And lo! Elias was of those sent (to warn),
إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِۦٓ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ﴿١٢٤﴾
When he said unto his folk: Will ye not ward off (evil)?
أَتَدْعُونَ بَعْلًۭا وَتَذَرُونَ أَحْسَنَ ٱلْخَٰلِقِينَ ﴿١٢٥﴾
Will ye cry unto Baal and forsake the Best of creators,
ٱللَّهَ رَبَّكُمْ وَرَبَّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ﴿١٢٦﴾
Allah, your Lord and Lord of your forefathers?
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَإِنَّهُمْ لَمُحْضَرُونَ ﴿١٢٧﴾
But they denied him, so they surely will be haled forth (to the doom)
إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ ﴿١٢٨﴾
Save single-minded slaves of Allah.
وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِى ٱلْءَاخِرِينَ ﴿١٢٩﴾
And we left for him among the later folk (the salutation):
سَلَٰمٌ عَلَىٰٓ إِلْ يَاسِينَ ﴿١٣٠﴾
Peace be unto Elias!
إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ ﴿١٣١﴾
Lo! thus do We reward the good.
إِنَّهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿١٣٢﴾
Lo! he is one of our believing slaves.
وَزَكَرِيَّا وَيَحْيَىٰ وَعِيسَىٰ وَإِلْيَاسَ ۖ كُلٌّۭ مِّنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ ﴿٨٥﴾
And Zachariah and John and Jesus and Elias. Each one (of them) was of the righteous.
